How we handle your information, in plain English.
This policy explains what information we collect when you use theamericanescape.com, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. If a term is unclear, email us and we will walk you through it.
Information you give us. When you fill out our planning questionnaire, contact form, or live chat, or email us, we collect the details you choose to share. That typically includes your name, email, phone number, and trip details such as destinations, travel dates, party size and ages, budget, celebrations, and any preferences or accessibility needs. If you are booking a trip, this can include the names and details of the travelers in your party, including children whose information a parent or guardian provides.
Payment information. We do not collect or store credit card numbers on this website. When a deposit or booking requires your card, you enter it on a secure, PCI-compliant form hosted by our provider (Travefy), and we use it only to make your booking with the travel supplier. Purchases of our downloadable travel guide are processed by the third-party store where the guide is listed (currently Etsy), under that store's own privacy and payment terms.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we automatically collect limited technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, the site or search that referred you, and how you interact with our pages. We collect this through cookies and similar technologies (see below).
Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use two general kinds:
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of analytics tracking there as well. If you are visiting from the European Union or United Kingdom, we will present a cookie consent choice before loading non-essential cookies.

We share your information only as needed to serve you and run our business:
We do not sell your personal information.
We keep your information for as long as we need it to plan and service your travel, maintain our business records, and meet legal obligations. When it is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it. You can ask us to delete your information sooner (see below).
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and you can opt out of marketing messages at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights:
To exercise any of these, email Tommy@theamericanescape.com or call (440) 209-2850 and we will respond promptly.
Our website is intended for adults planning travel and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children. When a trip involves minors, the traveling adult provides that information to us for the purpose of booking the trip.
We use reasonable measures to protect your information, and payment cards are handled only through a PCI-compliant provider. No website or method of transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Our site links to third-party sites, such as Disney, our travel guide's store, and our payment-authorization provider. Their privacy practices are their own, and we encourage you to review their policies.
The trip cost estimator and any figures on this site are illustrative examples using public pricing and are not quotes or offers. Actual pricing, availability, and terms are set by the travel suppliers and confirmed in writing before you book. Bookings are subject to the suppliers' own terms and conditions. We provide our planning services with no separate planning fee, as described on the site.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date at the top. Your continued use of the site means you accept the current version.
